Michelle has a gentle and friendly demeanor and strives to maintain a supportive and kind class environment. She has a dance background and uses her knowledge to help students sharpen their skills. As a teacher she uses simple choreographed sequences to provide guidance and structure while encouraging her students to explore their unique styles. She believes in the healing potential of movement and integrates mindfulness, meditations, and positive affirmations into her lessons. In her classes you can expect to incorporate dance movements with hoop tricks and deepen your mind-body connection.
Group classes offer a space for healthy self-expression as well as exercise. They are an excellent way to connect with others while developing and refining your hoop dance skills. Classes include a warm-up/stretch, review of hoop dance technique, and a 16-32 count choreography.
Private lessons are catered to your hoop goals and interests. They include a warm-up/stretch, review of hoop dance technique, and a 16-32 count choreography designed specifically for you. Private lessons help accelerate the learning process and offer a highly individualized experience.
I couldn’t even hula hoop when I did my first class. I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to do anything, but Michelle was an awesome instructor and took the intimidation right out of it!!! I can now hula hoop for at least a few seconds :):) our session was on the beach of the river and we spent about an hour learning different tricks and then putting it together for a routine at the end !!! It was SO FUN! Michelle is great teaching all abilities: keeps it challenging for those who need it and is patient for those like me who take a couple tries 🙂 I highly recommend working with Shellbellhoops for any occasion !!
